New Popular Air routes introduce in Lhasa, International

Tibetan Airlines and Cathaysia Airlines have joined forces to enhance flight connectivity in Tibet, introducing 94 new destinations along with 30 unique ones. This collaboration aims to facilitate travel for both residents and visitors to and from Tibet.

Previous Challenges Addressed: Improved Connectivity

Previously, Tibetan Airlines covered around 40% of the inbound and outbound routes at Gongga Airport in Lhasa. With over 50 routes connecting 45 cities, it helped bridge the gap between Tibet and major cities on the mainland. However, connecting numerous cities on the third and fourth-tier routes remained a challenge.

Now, the main routes of Tibetan Airlines and the branch routes of Cathaysia Airlines have been seamlessly integrated. Cathaysia Airlines serves small and medium-sized cities in eastern and central China. By linking with travel hubs such as Chengdu, Chongqing, Xi’an, Guiyang, Lanzhou, Yinchuan, Xining, Taiyuan, Tianjin, and others, they have added a total of 94 new destinations. This development significantly enhances accessibility to the Tibet Autonomous Region, both domestically and internationally.

Enhancing Travel Experience

Senior manager at Tibet Airlines Lhasa Operational Center, expressed that the new flight destinations in Tibet will promote regional travel, reduce travel time between major and small to medium-sized cities, improve air transport coverage, and cater to the evolving travel needs of the public.

By expanding flight connectivity, Tibetan Airlines and Cathaysia Airlines are making it easier for travelers to explore the unique beauty and culture of Tibet, fostering greater connections between regions and enhancing overall travel experiences.
