Yangwo Gorge, 20 kilometers from Nyangpu Township, is home to a remarkable spring that flows year-round without freezing. Known as “Baga Sacred Spring,” this natural marvel springs forth six times a day. Nearby, three water-powered prayer wheels spin continuously, and a few steps away, mysterious caves adorned with sacred beasts, Buddha images, and unreadable scripts captivate the curious.
Across from Baga Monastery, a vast expanse of primeval rhododendron forest stretches across nearly ten thousand acres. The area, known as “Pearl Beach,” is renowned for its unique landscape, where crystal-clear springs harmonize with pebbly beaches, creating scenes of unparalleled beauty.
Jiaxing Gorge’s Natural Splendor
Merely 4 kilometers from Nyangpu Township, Jiaxing Gorge is celebrated for its ancient cypresses, intermittent springs, and waterfalls. Thirteen stately cypresses stand tall, offering shade and tranquility. The intermittent spring at the forest’s edge mysteriously ebbs and flows. A short distance downstream, the water cascades down the steep terrain in three streams, forming a majestic 25-meter-high waterfall, a sight as breathtaking as white scarves fluttering in the wind.
The Thermal Springs of Buru Gorge
Buru Gorge, 8 kilometers from Nyangpu Township and situated at an altitude of 4200 meters, is blessed with three distinct hot springs: the “Nun’s Spring,” the “Lama’s Spring,” and the “Buru Spring.” Each year, hundreds of visitors flock to these thermal waters for their healing properties. Surrounded by lush forests and enveloped in mist, the hot springs create an enchanting atmosphere that captivates all who visit.
