The best time to take the Tibet train from Xining to Lhasa is from April to October, when the weather is mild and landscapes along the Qinghai-Tibet Railway are at their most vibrant. Spring (April–May) brings blooming plateau scenery, summer (June–August) offers lush greenery and clear skies, while autumn (September–October) features golden views with fewer crowds, making it a great time for a Train and scenic journey.

For the most spectacular views, the Golmud to Lhasa section is a highlight, especially during daylight hours. Booking tickets in advance is recommended, particularly in peak season.
