To actively promote the healthy development of the general aviation industry, the Autonomous Region Development and Reform Commission, Tourism Development Department, and Tibet Regional Bureau of Civil Aviation co-organized the “Tibet General Aviation Charter Flight Tourism Activities” on October 10 at Lhasa Gonggar International Airport. The event aimed to activate the low-altitude tourism market and enrich and expand general aviation service scenarios. ✈
This event successfully targeted the Tibet tourism charter market. It commenced at the Gonggar Airport tarmac, where three planes were prepared for takeoff.
Simultaneously, an AVIC AC311A helicopter from the Tibet Emergency Rescue Base (Pengkang Branch Venue) flew the Pengkang – Namtso route.
Tibet is a significant global tourist destination with stunning natural scenery, a unique cultural landscape, distinct resource endowments, and abundant tourism resources. However, ground transportation in Tibet is inconvenient and infrastructure costs are high. Developing general aviation is crucial for improving livelihood, bolstering the national defence emergency economy, and fostering national unity. General aviation offers opportunities for low-altitude tourism, aerial photography, aerial sightseeing, and short-distance commuting, making it the most suitable way to develop and connect Tibet’s tourism resources. This more economical and convenient mode of transportation will give a boost to Tibet’s tourism industry.
Finally, the editor also assisted in obtaining the flight prices. The charter flight to Namtso costs 21,800 yuan for approximately three people, while the charter flight to Yanghu costs 18,800 yuan for three to four people. Due to the considerable distance to Mount Everest and the resulting complexity in guaranteeing services, the price for this trip is typically negotiated individually.
