According to lore, he confronted and subdued the guardian spirit “Binayaga” here, marking the area as blessed by his presence. As he continued his descent, encountering supernatural obstacles represented as feminine reproductive organs, Milarepa’s spiritual prowess manifested a wrathful deity, dispelling these illusions instantly. This location became known as “Longkulong.”

Surrounding Labuche Kang Mountain are numerous caves for meditation, footprints left by esteemed monks, and Tibetan Buddhist monasteries. To the south lies Zhenbo Sera, where Milarepa attained his final enlightenment, revered as a place of divine consultation. Nearby Zhenre Gou, approximately 800 meters from Zhenbo Sera, houses Milarepa’s meditation cave and blessed holy waters.
Just two kilometers away is the “Qudenggaqiong” self-formed stone seat, believed to be a gift from Jokhun Tsere Rinpoche to Milarepa. Nearby, at Kawa, stands the main building of the Gelugpa sect, formerly known as Ganden Zhopel Ling during the era of the 5th Dalai Lama.

Labuche Monastery, said to have been founded by Milarepa’s incarnation, Changba Quda’er, moved from Rechin to Queer, known as Quedi Pu Lin, has been a blend of Tibetan and Nepalese architectural styles for over 400 years. The monastery houses the revered “Gusaimar” statue, sculpted by Rechunwa using Milarepa’s saliva and nosebleed, representing profound spiritual significance.
